Allison Saltzman, MS, CI
Clinician
Allison Saltzman began her academic training in psychology at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL) where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She then earned her Master’s Degree in Counselor Education from ULL as well. Allison’s internship was completed at the Counseling and Testing Center on ULL’s campus where she provided counseling for college students in individual and group settings.
Allison frequently works with adolescents and young adults regarding the following issues: anxiety, depression, academic difficulties, career development, grief, trauma, self-esteem, relationships, and spirituality. She generally uses cognitive-behavioral approaches with her clients.
In addition to the training that Allison received through her graduate work, she has acquired post-graduate training in Neuro Emotional Technique (NET), which is a mind/body technique. The premises of NET involve therapeutic approaches which incorporate both the mind and body. According to N. E. T., Incorporated, “Emotions can negatively affect us long after the original event that caused them. When our body fails to ‘let go’ of these emotions we can find ourselves with unexplained aversions, self-sabotaging behaviors, destructive beliefs, phobias, and many chronic physical problems.” A simple muscle testing technique is used to determine the origin of the emotional trauma which has a physical manifestation. The neural pathway is then “cleared” allowing you to release physical and mental “residue” left behind after an emotional trauma.
