Having grown up in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, Ms. Mayers relocated to Lafayette, Louisiana in 2008.  She earned her Board Certification in Social Services and Psychotherapy after completing her Masters in Social Work from the National Catholic School of Social Services in Washington, D.C.

Ms. Mayers has experience in a wide variety of settings including mental health clinics, adoption agencies and hospitals.  Most recently, Ms. Mayers served as the primary adult psychotherapist at a Kaiser Permanente Medical Group in Washington, D.C. Ms. Mayers specializes in adult individual therapy, couples and group therapy.  Her vast clinical experiences and areas of interest include women’s issues, mood disorders (including depression and postpartum depression), anxiety, trauma, adoption related stressors, relationship issues, and challenges associated with life transitions.
