Ashtyn is a native of Lafayette, Louisiana and is currently working as a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC). Ashtyn earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Child and Family Studies before obtaining a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, both from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
While working towards her master’s degree, Ashtyn had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of client populations throughout the Lafayette community while completing her practicum and internship requirements. Ashtyn first began working for Aucoin & Associates as an intern in March of 2019. Following graduation, she began working with us full-time as a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC).
Ms. Arabie currently has several client populations that she enjoys working with. She works with children as young as four years old, along with adults and adolescents. Ashtyn works to help individuals suffering from a wide range of difficulties such as, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, divorce, trauma, grief/loss, and daily stressors. Ashtyn utilizes an integrative approach to counseling, where she pulls from different theories and techniques in order to most effectively meet the needs of each individual client. Examples of theories she uses may include, but are not limited to, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT), solution-focused therapy, strengths-based therapy, and non-directive play therapy.
