Casey Potier was born and raised in the Lafayette area and served 5 years active duty in the Army after high school. After adapting back to civilian life, he got involved in his local church where he led a small group that first allowed him to mentor couples in their relationships and their walk with God. This helped guide him to find his desire to work with couples and families which led him to start his college journey at 30.
Casey graduated from McNeese State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a Concentration in Family Science before earning his master’s degree in social work at LSU. Casey’s internship experience was at The Acadiana Family Tree which gave him the opportunity to work with a diverse client population within the Lafayette community. Casey enjoys working with adolescent, adult, and couple client populations. He is passionate about couples, family systems, parenting, co-parenting and working with men and fathers. As a veteran he is hoping to be a resource to fellow veterans and their families in the community who need help adjusting back to coming home.
Casey and his current wife of 12 years have been successfully co-parenting with his ex-wife to raise his teenage son. They are also raising a high-spirited 9-year-old son that challenges his parenting skills on a regular basis. He describes his wife and boys to have big hearts and a little nerdy like he is.
