Kayla Fanguy earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from Nicholls State University as well as a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
After graduation she worked for a non-profit agency providing in-home therapy to at-risk youth and their families. She provided individual, family and group therapy attempting to lower recidivism rates as well as preventing at-risk youth from entering into the criminal justice system.
Prior to joining Aucoin and Associates, she worked at The Family Tree providing therapy to individuals, couples, and families. Mrs. Fanguy is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She currently provides services for individuals, couples, and families with an array of relational, emotional, behavioral, educational and/or adjustment issues. She is trained in systems theory utilizing Solution-Focused Therapy, MRI Brief Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, Strategic Family Therapy, and Emotional-Focused Therapy techniques as well as Cognitive Behavior Therapy techniques and Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills. She is also certified in the pre-marital therapy program Prepare/Enrich.
