Kizzy Dixon is a Post-Doctoral Resident (supervised by Dr. Donna Aucoin, MP, PhD), who obtained a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Fielding Graduate University. She completed an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship within the National Psychology Training Consortium at Compass Behavioral Health in Missouri. During her training, Kizzy strengthened her skills in psychological and diagnostic evaluations, provided behavioral health consultation, individual psychotherapy, and Dialectical Behavior group therapy using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Brief Solution Focused Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy treatment modalities. During her training, Kizzy also gained experience conducting custody evaluations, risk assessments, sanity and competency evaluations, and pre-bariatric surgery psychological evaluations.
Prior to pursing her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, Kizzy obtained her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University and has been licensed as a professional counselor for 10 years. Kizzy provided services for children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of disorders including bipolar, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder, conduct disorder, schizophrenia, and borderline personality.
Kizzy is passionate in the work she does and uses a collaborative process to assist clients on their journey of self-discovery and self-empowerment. At Aucoin and Associates, Kizzy will provide psychological evaluations, individual psychotherapy, and couples therapy. Treatment modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy.
