Dr. Mary Broussard started her career in 2005 as an elementary classroom teacher fueled by her passion for understanding the developmental intricacies of a child especially in the area of learning. In 2009, she went on to receive her master’s degree in Gifted Education. Dr. Broussard is inspired to help teachers and parents understand the myriad of learning styles as well as the individual needs of a child in order to cultivate the whole person.
In 2014, Dr. Broussard earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Louisiana and continued to study the kaleidoscope of a child’s journey of development. Dr. Broussard specializes in creating and implementing personalized intervention plans for students with math or reading deficits. This includes analyzing historical and current data derived from screenings and achievement assessments, establishing an in-home study routine, training in the implementation of specific research-based strategies to address a child’s needs and providing support in educational decisions through acting as a liaison between a parent and education systems. Advocating for the student, she also provides communicative support for the child and parent.
Dr. Broussard’s goal is to infuse an understanding of the complexity of the learning and developmental processes of a child, which will provide support and training for parents needed to arm their child with a self-driven confidence that will follow them into adulthood.
