Shelbie Bergeaux is a native of Eunice, Louisiana and is currently working as a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC). Shelbie obtained a Bachelor of Art in Psychology with a minor in Biology from Louisiana College before obtaining a Master of Art in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Shelbie is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology through Walden University.
Shelbie had the opportunity to work with a variety of client population while working towards her master’s degree. Shelbie worked in the ABA therapy profession for a few years before transitioning to a private practice setting to complete her practicum and internship requirements. Shelbie first began working for Aucoin & Associates as a Psychometrist. Following graduation, she began working with us full time as a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC). As a counselor, she is passionate about actively helping individuals prioritize their mental health.
Shelbie enjoys working with a widespread client population. She enjoys working with children as young as four years of age, along with adolescents, adults, and couples. Shelbie enjoys working with individuals who suffer from a range of difficulties including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, attention deficit disorder-hyperactive, oppositional defiant disorder, postpartum depression, post traumatic stress disorder, autism, grief/loss, and daily life adjustments. Shelbie will also continue to work as a Psychometrist for the practice. Shelbie can provide testing for dyslexia, educational/achievement, and IQ.
